Today's USA Today has a full-page ad from the Better Business Bureau,
under the headline "Start With Trust", that lists about 225 charities
which have earned the Better Business Bureau Charity Seal. Prader-Willi
Syndrome (USA) is among the charities listed. (It's on page 11E.)
The ad text includes advice to "Look for the Better Business Bureau
Charity Seal and give with confidence. It's your assurance that a
charity meets 20 rigorous BBB Wise Giving Alliance standards."
We can all be proud that PWSA (USA) continues to be recognized as a
responsible, well-run charity. (In all, Wise Giving reports from the
Better Business Bureau are available on more than 1,000 charities at
www.bbb.org/ charity.)
Each year, about 1500 people give at least $100 to PWSA (USA). Because
of the current economic climate, calls to our Crisis Intervention
Counseling hotline are up (about 29% above last year's level, and more
than 50% over 2006), yet contributions are down. With this recognition
from the Better Business Bureau, you can feel confident in recommending
PWSA (USA) to friends and family members who want to be sure they are
contributing to a charity they can trust. Together, we can accomplish
anything for our children!
